GaussSense Desktop π» is a wonderful tool that helps you build projects with Mini GaussSense. Here, we are going through a few steps to prepare GaussSense Desktop for your Scratch2 / Web / Unity applications.
ππΌ Before starting, please connect an Arduino Board with Mini GaussSense and upload the Arduino firmware to the board ππΌ Head First Mini GaussSense.
Please visit the download page and download GaussSense Desktop for your operating system.
First select the size of Mini GaussSense (currently support 1x1 and 2x2), and then select the serial port that is connected to Mini GaussSense.
Click on Visualizer to see the magnetic field distribution of GaussSense in action, click on Calibration to reset sensor value for GaussSense.
Click on Settings to modify the display options for the Visualizer.
- Sample Rate: You would get a higher resolution with a higher sample rate.
- North/South Polar: The north (displayed in red) and south (displayed in blue) polars show their positions (x, y) and intensity.
- Bipolar Midpoint: The bipolar midpoint carries the information of its rotation angle (from north polar), pitch other than the position and intensity.
Note that when you close the window of GaussSense Desktop for Chrome, the connection would be lost.
